This section describes system requirements, installation and uninstallation steps for Aspose.Editor. Before installing, make sure the system requirements are met.
System Requirements
Aspose.Editor does not require having either Microsoft Word or any other third party components installed except .NET framework. Aspose.Editor implements its own text processing engine including sophisticated rendering and public API.
The following .NET Framework versions are supported:
- .NET Framework 1.1
- .NET Framework 2.0
- .NET Framework 3.0
- .NET Framework 3.5
Installing Aspose.Editor
Aspose.Editor is distributed as an MSI installer. The installer performs the following tasks:
- Installs the Aspose.Editor assemblies.
- Installs the demo projects with source code.
- Installs the documentation.
- Adds the assemblies to the Add Reference dialog box in Visual Studio.
You need to install Aspose.Editor on developers’ machine(s) only. You do not need to install Aspose.Editor on the clients or on the server.
To be able to run Aspose.Editor inside the browser on the client machines, the client machines security settings need to be configured properly. See further sections for more information.
To install Aspose.Editor:
- If you have a previous version of Aspose.Editor installed, please uninstall it first. See below how to remove the component from the computer.
- Download the latest version of Aspose.Editor for .NET from http://www.aspose.com/Downloads/Aspose.Editor/Default.aspx.
- Run the downloaded file and follow the installer instructions.
What Gets Installed
By default, Aspose.Editor is installed into the C:\Program Files\Aspose\Aspose.Editor directory.
The following directories are created:
- Bin – contains Aspose.Editor assemblies and IntelliSense documentation.
- Demos – contains source code and compiled versions of demo projects.
- Help – contains documentation and helper files used during installation.
- License – contains the license agreement.
Uninstalling Aspose.Editor
If you have used MSI installer to deploy Aspose.Editor, follow these steps to completely remove the component and the associated demos and documentation:
- From the Start menu, select Settings | Control Panel.
- Click Add/Remove Programs.
- Select Aspose.Editor.
- Click the Change/Remove button to remove Aspose.Editor.
