Lossless Editing (also called roundtripping) is a unique feature of Aspose.Editor that allows users to open-edit-save documents without loss of advanced document content and formatting.

For example, Aspose.Editor does not display and does not allow editing revisions and comments in a document yet, but if you open-edit-save a document with Aspose.Editor – any existing revisions will remain in the document. As can be seen from the screen sample below, a special icon is displayed to indicate an unsupported element.

Step 1: An original document with revisions, comments and graphics as displayed in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: The document is opened in Aspose.Editor, unsupported elements, such as revisions and comments are shown, other elements such as pictures are shown with “unknown item” mark but not lost.

Step 3: The document is saved by Aspose.Editor and opened in Microsoft Word again. The revisions, comments and graphics were not lost.
