We use three Aspose.NET components (Aspose.Word, Aspose.Excel, Aspose.Pdf) to solve the following problem:

It is needed to convert MS Word documents (.doc files) and MS Excel sheets (.xls files) to PDF format without installing of the MS Office products inside our MS.NET product.

We tried to use many different components but only Aspose components have satisfied us because of:

1. Aspose components are written with .NET technology and we can use them directly from our code (By the way, they exist for different versions of .NET framework, we use .NET Framework 1.0 and now it is very difficult to find components, which work with it).

2. These components do not use MS Office to work with MS Office files (such as .doc, .xls, .pps files)

3. They provide very simple but powerful interfaces. We can to solve our problem with writing only several lines of code.

4. Aspose Company proposes the possibility to buy only components, which are needed to a customer.

We’ve bought only three components and did not pay for expensive unnecessary features and modules.

One of our clients has a PowerPoint export requirement in his reporting needs and after researching on the web for a suitable 3rd party java PowerPoint component, I discovered that most of the 3rd party solutions only provides the ability to export the existing PowerPoint presentation to other formats and does not provide the ability to modify and save the presentation back as .ppt format.

As the customer requires the ability to create PowerPoint slides from the generated report which pulls in dynamic data stored in a relational database server and due to time constraints, I needed something that I can plug and code immediately. The Aspose PowerPoint component is a godsend when I finally stumbled onto it. The only software vendor having a commercial solution that I can use was Aspose.
