Aspose.Words does not require having Microsoft Word installed, as Aspose.Words itself is a Word document creation engine. To view Word documents produced by Aspose.Words, you need at least Microsoft Word Viewer installed.

Aspose.Words for .NET System Requirements

The following Microsoft Windows operating systems are supported:

• Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
• Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
• Microsoft Windows 2003 Server
• Microsoft Windows Vista

The following .NET Framework versions are supported:

• .NET Framework 1.0
• .NET Framework 1.1
• .NET Framework 2.0
• Aspose.Words for .NET also runs on Mono 1.2, although comprehensive testing with Mono is not yet complete.
