PDF in Aspose.Words
Any document loaded into Aspose.Words can be converted to PDF.
Aspose.Words goes to great lengths to faithfully convert Microsoft Word documents to PDF. Most of the time the look of the final PDF document will be indistinguishable from the original Microsoft Word document.
The Aspose solution thoroughly supports the following document features when converting to PDF:
- Text and formatting
- Paragraphs and formatting
- Bulleted and numbered lists, multilevel lists
- Tables and nested tables
- Sections, headers/footers, multiple columns of text
- Images, textboxes, drawing shapes
- Bookmarks
- Hyperlinks
- Page numbering fields
- Form fields
Further, you can customize export to PDF in Aspose.Words using a number of options, such as make headings from a Microsoft Word document appear in the Bookmarks pane in Adobe Reader allowing navigation through the document.
NEW Direct to PDF Rendering
Aspose.Words for .NET 6.0 introduces the new Rendering Engine that can convert a document to PDF file, TIFF, PNG, EMF etc images, draw on the screen or print. It is recommended that you use this new method for converting documents to PDF.
In earlier versions of Aspose.Words for .NET conversion to PDF was possible by saving the document in the Aspose.Pdf.Xml format and then using Aspose.Pdf (had to be purchased separately) to produce a PDF file. This method is still available in Aspose.Words, but it will be deprecated during 2009.
The above two images show the high degree of fidelity with which Aspose.Words converted a document from DOC to PDF.
