Aspose.Cells does not require Microsoft Excel to be installed, as Aspose.Cells itself is a spreadsheet creation engine. To view Excel documents produced by Aspose.Cells, you need at least Microsoft Excel Viewer installed.

Aspose.Cells for .NET also runs on Mono 1.2, although comprehensive testing with Mono is yet to be completed.

Aspose.Cells for Java also supports Linux, Ubuntu, Unix and Solaris apart from Microsoft Windows operating systems.
