Old Order Licensing FAQs

How do I login with my new username? My old login does not work.

We recently changed our usernames when we changed our licensing scheme. It is now one username that is used for both the forums and account information section. If you have an old order, we probably had a username selected for you. You can have your username emailed to you by going to this page and entering your email address associated with your order. Your information will be emailed to you. Then, you can login and view your order history on the account page .

Can I change my username since it looks really ugly like XGFDOH?

Yes, we are working on that. We plan on allowing users to change that. Check back for updates on this matter.

To use the new license, do I need to download the latest version?

Yes, since a new SetLicense method is introduced to set the new license, you need to download latest version . The old SetLicense method does not work for the new license. Please download the latest version and then check the licensing guides to set the new license.

To use the new license, do I need to change my code?

Yes since the old SetLicense method does not work with the new license. Instead, we introduce a new License.SetLicense method which is uniform for all Aspose components. The change will only be one line or two. View code on the licensing guide page . However, we know this change will cause inconvenience to you so we encourage you to acquire the new license at a later time if you're not ready to upgrade your code now. You have one year to do that.

How do I download new license?

Please view Download License to find out how to download the new license.

I didn't create the deployment license for my product server in the past, can I do that now?

Sorry, no. We don't plan to issue old license any more since we have introduced the new license. What you need to do is, login the new purchase system at Account to download your new license. View how to download new license .

Will my new license expire on 2006/03/01?

No. Your license should always work for any versions released before 2006/03/01. Your subscription may expire, but your license will always work. If you need versions released after 2006/03/01, you need to renew your subscription.

I purchased a suite in the past. Why does your new system says it's Aspose.Custom?

We do not offer product suites specified by us. Instead, we offer Aspose.Custom , which can be dynamically specified by you, not by us. So all old suites such as Aspose.Report, Aspose.Office, Aspose.Format and Aspose.Component are converted to Aspose.Custom in the new purchase system.

I purchased Aspose.Component suite Unlimited license. Why can't I use any new products released recently like Aspose.Pdf.Fo, etc.?

The suite members included in Aspose.Component was specified by us. The final version of Aspose.Component included the following products: Aspose.Excel, Aspose.Word, Aspose.PowerPoint, Aspose.Project, Aspose.Pdf, Aspose.Chart, Aspose.Spell, Aspose.Recurrence. Due to this, your Unlimited license does not authorize you to use new products that were not included in Aspose.Component. Instead, you're allowed to use the specified suite members as long as possible, that is, you can renew your annual subscription year by year for free.

I purchased a developer's license and a web deployment license purchase last year. When I logged on your new purchase system the license appears to be for the developer version. I would think I would find two different licenses. Please advise.

When we introduced the new purchase system, we also introduced the new licensing scheme, which does not differentiate development license and deployment license. Just a single license can be used for both development and deployment. So what you have found in the new purchase system is your correct license file for the new licensing scheme.
