Aspose created worksheet doesnt render correctly in "Protected View" in Office 2010 .NET

I have created several reports using  Aspose.cells, smart markers, and a report designer.

When I create them ,  they do not render correctly in "protected view", which is the default for files from the internet, email, etc...

While in protected view in Excel 2010, all data that was added from the smart markers just doesn't seem to exists.  When you enable editing, everything shows back up.

Has anyone seen this before, or know how to resolve this?

    Hi,

Please share your Input/Output Excel files. Also, it would be of great help that you provide us a simple console application that can re-create the said issue on our end. We will look into it very soon and provide you all assistance to rectify it.

    Hi,

Please try our latest version v5.3.2.4 if it works fine.

If you still find the issue, kindly create a sample application, zip it and post it here to show the issue with template files and screen_shots, we will check it soon.

    Thank you.

Re: Aspose created worksheet doesnt render correctly in "Protected View" in Office 2010

    Attachment: Present (inaccessible)

The new version makes its slightly better, however formulas cells are still not populated correctly.

    I've attached 3 files.

    1) Zip file containing a project.  In order to reproduce scenarios:

    1.    Add A license file in the AsposeFiles Folder.  (It is referenced in the License resource).
    2.    Run the project... it will save an output file in the bin (I've included that as well)
    3.    Email the excel file to yourself, and open directly from the web/outlook.  The excel file will open in protected mode.  You will see the formula cells are not filled in.

    2) I've also included screenshots of what a larger version of this file looks like before and after clicking the enable editing button.

Let me know if you need anything else... I think this should be everything

Re: Aspose created worksheet doesnt render correctly in "Protected View" in Office 2010

    Hi,

Thanks for the project with sample files.

I use your project to run it to save the output file to my hard drive. When I open the generated file in MS Excel 2010, it shows fine and the formulas are evaluated fine.
But, when I send this file as a mail attachment in my outlook express to myself, it shows me in protected view when I take the view or open the file attached to the mail.

We need to investigate whether it is an issue or something else (e.g behavior/settings of outlook etc.). I have logged an issue with an id:
CELLSNET-26472. We will look into your issue soon.

    thank you.

Re: Aspose created worksheet doesnt render correctly in "Protected View" in Office 2010

    Hi,

It’s not the issue of Aspose.Cells.

MS Excel2010 will not re-calculate formulas when opening the file in protected mode.

Please call workbook.CalculateFormula method to make generated file contains correct formula value because we do not calculate formulas if workbook.CalculateFormula is not called.

But there are an unsupported function STDEV.S in workbook.CalculateFormula method. We will look into it soon.

Re: Aspose created worksheet doesnt render correctly in "Protected View" in Office 2010

    Hi,

Also, when you open the files from internet or emails, the "Protected View" would become the default view for Excel files. For reference, check the article What is protected view from Microsoft.

    Thanks for your understanding!

    Hi,

We have now supported STDEV.S as STDEV. Please download Aspose.Cells for .NET v5.3.2.5.
