Stacked bar in a table?

Hello there,

My company has a website that displays stacked bars by nesting HTML tables (yuck, I know). An example is attached.

We've so far failed to implement a similar rendering in iTextSharp, and I'm wondering if anyone thinks it is possible in Aspose.Pdf? I've read promising things about HTML conversion and adding graph objects.

Attempting this myself is a last resort, as I'm evaluating several similar products and my time is very limited, so any thoughts are greatly appreciated before I commit to the fun of proof-of-technology coding.

Hello Neil,

Thanks for considering Aspose.

HTML to PDF conversion is in Beta phase and I am afraid it does not support complex HTML documents. As far as I can see, your MHT file is quite complex and currently our product might not be able to transform it into PDF format. May be you can simplify the document and again try converting it.

Thanks for the advice, Nayyer, I'd attempt it with a much simpler HTML layout. Does the conversion facility support inline and/or external CSS?

I'm not particularly married to the exact HTML structuring in my example. I wonder if anyone feels that something approximating the visual end result is possible?

I've seen mention of "adding graph objects". I'm guessing this could be either charts or polygons? One option could be to draw a set of adjacent rectangles and insert them in the respective table cells.

I think my worst case options would be to use .NET 4.0 charting or Aspose.Chart to generate a horizontal stacked bar graph, but I would have the forgo the "Not Signed" table column in the example I provided.

Hello Neil,

I am afraid CSS is currently not supported. But this feature is already logged in our issue tracking system as PDFNET-14739. Our development team is working over this requirement and once this feature becomes available, we would be pleased to update you with the status of correction.

Aspose.Pdf for .NET supports the feature of adding graph objects to PDF document. May be you can consider generating the required PDF using this approach. For more related information, please visit Working with Graphs

I had a quick go at a simpler HTML version and it picked up some of the inline styles and attributes. I've now got a basic proof-of-tech for later evaluation.

Thanks for your patience.

I am pleased to inform you that with the release of version 4.6.0 of Aspose.Pdf for .NET, the support for Inline style and external CSS is provided. But I am afraid all the styles are currently not supported. Our development team is still working hard to support rest of the style formattings and as soon as the feature becomes more stable, we would be pleased to share the information.
