    Upgrade problem .NET

    Attachment: Present (inaccessible)

    We recently payed to upgraded our APOSE.PDF 3.4 (2007) or ASPOSE.PDF 4.3 (2010).

We noticed that this upgrade has caused some serious problems that we did not anticipate.

I have attached 2 PDF screen shots the one run with the 3.4 (old.jpg) the second run with 4.3 (new.jpg)

The old.jpg is what we want.

The 3 most obvious issues are that the headers are not centered and column widths have changed and the "totol" bottom line is missing.

The code that creates this is long and complicated but it has not changed.  These two PDF’s were generated this AM and the only change I made was to replace the 3 ASPOSE.PDF files.  No code changes.

I am not ever sure where to start.

We need this fixed ASAP and I hope you can point me to a known issues or something.

    Hello David,

    Thanks for using our products.

I am afraid I don't have the exact version 3.4.0 but I have tried reproducing the issue while using Aspose.Pdf for .NET 3.5.8.7 and Aspose.Pdf for .NET 4.6.0 and as per my observations, I am unable to reproduce the issue at my end. I have used the attached code snippet to test the scenario. For your reference I am also attaching the resultant PDF that I have generated with Aspose.Pdf for .NET 4.6.0.

Can you please modify the attached code so that we can reproduce the problem at our end ? We apologize for your inconvenience.

Besides this, I have noticed that the contents of row beneath repeating row over subsequent page are overlapping the bottom border to RepeatingRow. For the sake of correction, I have logged this issue as PDFNET-19632. We will further look into the details of this problem and will keep you updated on the status of correction.

    Thanks for the quick response.

I started with you sample and started pasting chunks of my code until it failed.

It did fail so here is the code and the two pdf's again to get from old to new all I changed were the 3 bin files.

    Re: Upgrade problem

    Hello David,

    Thanks for sharing the information.

I have tested the scenario and I am able to reproduce the LineSpacing and loss of Segment Alignment information problem. For the sake of correction, I have logged them in our issue tracking system as PDFNET-19658. We will investigate this issue in details and will keep you updated on the status of a correction.

I am afraid I am still unable to reproduce the missing bottom line for Total row. Can you please help us in replicating the issue.

    We apologize for your inconvenience.

    Re: Upgrade problem

    Hello David,

We have analyzed Row contents are overlapping the row bottom border (PDFNET-19632) issue and as per our initial estimates, we plan to get this issue resolved by the end of this month. However, still it's not a promise. As soon as we have made some definite progress towards its resolution, we will let you know.

Please be little more patient and spare us little time. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Hello David,

    Thanks for your patience.

We have further investigated the issue PDFNET-19658 "Segment Formating (Center Alignment) and Line spacing information is lost" we are not entirely certain about the cause of this issue. May be there have been some issue with older versions of the product. But in current version it looks according to the documentation:

Regarding Alignment issue, "This property should be set for the Text object rather than Segment object."

And about LineSpacing: "this property gets or sets a float value that indicates the spacing between two text lines. The unit is point."

So, if we set Alignment for text object equal Center and set LineSpacing = 20, you can generate a PDF document similar to the attached one generated with Aspose.Pdf for .NET 4.8.0.

In case it does not resolve your problem or you have any further query, please feel free to contact. We apologize for the delay and inconvenience.

FYI, In next few days, we are about to release a new version of Aspose.Pdf for .NET 4.9.0 and the PDF document generated with this version, also seems to be correct.
