When exporting a reporting services report to PowerPoint (PPTX) with 52 pages/charts we receive the error below.

The report worked fine until the page/chart count was increased.  This report exports just fine to PDF and Excel.  We have tried exporting to PPT and PPTX.  Other smaller reports still work.  The server has 4GB of memory but it is only using 2.5-3 GB of memory during the export process.  We are running SQL Server 2008 on Windows Server 2003 as a virtual machine (VMware).  When exporting to PDF it creates a file size 2.75 MB and Excel creates a file size of 1.19 MB.

We need to know as soon as possible if there is a limitations to this utility and its ability to export presentations to PPTX with 75 to 80 pages.  The purchase order to buy this product has been put on hold.

It would be helpful to investigate, if you share about the SSRS RDL to Tiff export size. Moreover, does this issue exist only on RDL to PPTX or you are facing the same issue on RDL to PPT?

The TIFF export file size is 7.5 MB.

As noted previously, we are having this problem with PPT and PPTX.

I am having a similar issue with a 10 page report. Our report consists of 10 sub-reports. Each sub-report is 1 page.

All that we receive as an error message is:

Exception type: Exception

Exception message: An error occurred during rendering of the report.
