event triggers and custom calendars Reporting Services

I thought i read that one of the products supports the creation of custom calendars and also adds the ability for Reporting Services to run a report based on a file trigger.

Can anyone tell me what Aspose product does that?

    Hi

Thank you for your interest in Aspose products. It seems you are asking about Aspose.ICalendar, which currently is part of Aspose.Network. I will move your request to the appropriate forum. My colleagues will answer you shortly.

    Best regards.

Re: event triggers and custom calendars .NET

    Hi,

    Thanks for considering Aspose.

Could you please provide more details about your requirements, how you want to create custom calendars. Aspose.iCalendar can generate recurrence patterns according to the iCalendar RFC. More about iCalendar at http://www.aspose.com/documentation/file-format-components/aspose.network-for-.net/introducing-recurrence-patterns.html and http://www.aspose.com/documentation/file-format-components/aspose.network-for-.net/about-aspose-icalendar-object-model.html.

Re: event triggers and custom calendars

We currently use Crystal Reports for our reports. We are slowly migrating to SSRS.

Crystal Enterprise has these three features that SSRS does not have.

    • File based event driven reports (for instnace Crystal Enterprise monitors a folder for a file to arrive. Once the file is detected, a report will then run. )
    • Custom Calendars. In Crystal Enterprise you can create a custom calendar for the entire year and save it. For instance we have one that is created and has all our holidays on it. DIfferent departments have different calendars they use to schedule reports. We need to be able to create a calendar for the next year, save it and then run reports agains it.
    • Formatted text output. We have an enterprise application that archives reports for compliance purposes. It requires formatted text. We need to be able to output formatted text, not CSV text.
