    Updating table of contents

I'm working with Aspose Words (not sure of the version - .lic files says "LicenseVersion 2.0") and trying to generate a table of contents.  I can do this with a macro or, if macros are disabled, through F9.  However, the generated document is going straight to the end users and the end users are not that tech-savvy.  Is there anyway to run the macro before sending the document?  Or, failing that, is there a newer version of Aspose.Words that can build a table of contents programmatically?  Upgrading is not a problem, I just have to have a solid reason to do so.

    Re: Updating table of contents

    Hi

Thanks for your inquiry. Aspose.Words still does not update TOC fields. This feature will be supported, but currently, I cannot give you any estimate regarding this.

The only workaround is updating fields inside the document manually (ctrl+A and F9) or using macro. See the following link to learn more.

You can use AutoOpen macro to update all fields in a document automatically, when someone open the document. However, this approach will not work if macros are disabled.

    Best regards.
