Not rendering Japanese Text within images

    Attachment: Present (inaccessible)
When we have an image that contains Japanese characters, the characters are just appearing as squares.

I am using Java 1.6 and I have the fonts installed on my PC.

One thing I should mention: the source images are coming from a Word 2007 document, which is a zip archive containing xml files and various media files, such as .emf, .wmf, jpg, etc.  The important point is that the source is a zipped file.

    Attached are some sample files.

    Hello,

Can you please post your code here, so that I run it on my side to look into it?

I think, source of images should not matter.

Also, how do you know font used in the image is installed on your PC? Which font is this? It must be some other font and you might have installed different Japanese font..

Re: Not rendering Japanese Text within images

    Hello Paul,

I did some investigations on weekends and found environment with the same symptoms like yours.
Windows XP + JRE1.6. It was solved by simple installing Asian languages support.
Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Language -> Install files for East Asian languages

One more possible solution can be found here.

    Unfortunately we found another problem.
Japanese characters can be overlapped in case of using DBCS like Shift-JIS and others.
Anyway, it's already fixed and hot fix will be available in a few hours.

I've attached the source java code.

I've installed the fonts per your instructions and will try again once you've released your hot fix.

    Thanks for the help.

Re: Not rendering Japanese Text within images

    Dear Sagar,

It could be the issue of Aspose.Cells or Aspose.Slides. To check it if it is the bug of Aspose.Cells, simply write your generated excel on your disk and open it in MS-Excel and see if MS-Excel shows the characters garbled.  If yes, then report this bug to Aspose.Cells forum.

In case, it shows right, then it means, something going wrong on Aspose.Slides side. Then attach your generated Excel in Aspose.Slides forum, so that we could fix it.

There might be another problem; perhaps the Japanese font is not installed in your machine, because Aspose.Cells might use font information from your machine etc.
