Problem with conversion from dot to pdf

    Attachment: Present (inaccessible)
    Hi,
         I'm using Aspose.Pdf version 3.6.2.0 and Aspose.Words version 5.0.2.
I've converted the attached dot file to pdf, but the document was not converted correctly.
Could you please look at it?
    Thanks for help.

    Hi,

I have tested your document and was able to reproduce the error. I have logged this as PDFNET-4499 in our issue tracking system. We will try our best to resolve this as soon as possible.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

We are working on it. There are serveral issues in the doc template's conversion and some of them are known as difficult to fix in short time. I am afraid we are not able to offer you a complete solution for that. We will try our best to make it better and let you try it. Thanks.

    Best regards.

    Hi,

We plan to publish a new release late this month. Sorry for spending so much time on it. As the doc template itself is very complicated. Our main difficulty is that it is hard to place rectangles in right positions which could be caused by many reasons. We also need Aspose Words team's cooperation. We need to consult it more and let you know what we can done for it.

    Best regards.

Re: Problem with conversion from dot to pdf

    Hi,

The result is better when working with these two new releases.
But it is still not acceptable. As you know, MS Word is very rich and complicated. We are never able to map each feature directly to our pdf utility. What we can do is to simulate them as much as possible. In the dot file, some features are known to be not supported in our word2pdf utility. They had been logged in our defect tracking system. We will give you an update here once they are fixed. However, as reasons described above, I am afraid we can't resolve the problem in considerable future. As a workaround, we recommend you to modify the doc template and switch to use familiar features. Thanks for your help and understanding.

    Best regards.

Re: Problem with conversion from dot to pdf

    Hi,

Our development team is working hard to get these issues resolved, but I am sorry to inform you that we are still unable to get them resolved completely. As Hans have mentioned, our main difficulty is that it is hard to place rectangles in right positions which could be caused by many reasons. We will try our level best to support it in future versions.

    We apologize for your inconvenience.
