Suggestion about using ASPXpand to close a popup window after downloading a file?

    Hello,

I'm a heavy-duty user of Aspose.Words and Aspose.Cells and I'd like to ask for your advice as to whether ASPXpand will help me to solve a particular problem.

I'm using Words and Cells to accomplish mail merge operations.  My users click a link from an ASPX page, which opens a popup window from which they choose options.  Then, the user clicks a "Merge" button which calls Aspose.Words, performs the merge and then uses Words to save the resulting file back to the browser via the browser Response.  The user saves the file, then manually closes the popup window.

What I would prefer is that after the user clicks the Merge button, I'd like to close the popup window (but still deliver the file to the browser via the HttpResponse).  So, the user clicks Merge, processing occurs, and when the file is ready to be delivered, the dialog box (popup window) closes.  The user can save the file to his computer, but no longer has to manually close the popup.

    Hopefully all that makes sense.

Anyway, I've seen some interesting functionality in the ASPXpand tools and wondering whether you think I might be able to accomplish my goal.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

    Mike

    Hi Mike,

       Thanks for your  post!

The ASPXpand contains functions to close the window but I am not sure if it satisfy your scenario(still deliver the file to browser), could you provide the codes to guangzhou#aspose.com so that I can make a investigation further ?

       Thanks
