DLL does not contain an assembly

When I follow the installation instructions for the BarCode.Net in my Visual Basic .Net 2003 IDE, everything goes as expected up to this point...

Now you have referenced Aspose.BarCode and it should appear in the SelectedComponents pane of the dialog box. Click OK. The Aspose.BarCode reference will appear under the References node of the project.

Everything here even occurs as planned.  However when I click OK to close the 'Report Properties' dialog, where the references are listed, I get the error, "C:\Program Files\Aspose\Aspose.BarCode\Bin\net2\Aspose.barCode.dll does not contain an assembly"

    Have I missed something?

    Hi,

For VS 2003, please try to add reference to .net 1.1 dll. The default location is "C:\Program Files\Aspose\Aspose.BarCode\Bin\net1.1".

If you are using VS 2005, then .net 2 version of the dll should be referenced.

    Thanks for the information.

When I get the 1.1 version attached, then add the icons to the toolbox, they're greyed out.  I presume this is due to me working on a report item, instead of other vb items?

Re: DLL does not contain an assembly

We should likely kill this thread.  We're about to leave the version of our application that requires reports run on our SQL 2005 server be composed in VS2003, totally eliminating the problem.

    Thanks--
