I am combining word documents on the fly and I am able to restart the page numbers which is great. What I have not figured out how to do is stop the total number of pages to "recalculate" after it is merged. For example I combine document 1 that has 3 pages, Page one says "Page 1 of 3", Page two says "Page 2 of 3", etc. same for document two. After I combine the documents this numbering will be "Page 1 of 6" and the first page of document two will restart, but it will also not have the right second number "Page 1 of 6". Is there a way to stop that second part of the page number from recalculating?

Thanks for your inquiry. There is no way to achieve this. You can’t also do the same using MS Word.
