    Installation problems

    Hi, I am having poblem installing iCalendar with windows installer on Vista.We purchased the Developer OEM Subscription for Aspose.iCalendar.

    The specific error message that i am getting is :

    "Installer was interrupted before Aspose.iCalendar could be installed.You need to restart the installer to try again."

    and in the background, i could see is Windows installer has stopped working window.

    Do you suggest any help or workaround?

    If you want to install Aspose.iCalendar without waiting for a new release, you can switch UAC off in Vista and then run the installer. Alternatively, you can make a .bat file that invokes msiexec with Aspose.iCalendar.msi and invoke it using Run as Administrator.

    It is a well-known MSI issue with Vista. We simply have not yet upgraded all our products.

    Hi,

    This bug was fixed in Aspose.iCalendar 1.2.5 Released.

    I still get this issue.  Although It's not related to UAC for me.  On my system the error is actually caused by the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) shutting down msiexec durring the install.  Is there any way to manually extract the components, or get them in plain old .zip format?  I'm not really a fan of the way everything has been switched over to .msi packages.

    Hi,

    Please, could you send me more full description of a problem (operation system configuration, error screenshot etc.)  as I could not reproduce it.
    See a zip archive of the installed component in attachment.

    The installer starts, and gets to what look like the very end of the installation, the progress bar is at 100%.  Right before it completes I get "an error occured durring setup.".  The progress bar rolls back to 0%, and the installer exits.  A dialog then pops up from the OS telling me that msiexec was stopped due to Data Execution Prevention (DEP), and gives me the usualy "check for solution Online" dialog.  I've managed to work around the issue by totally disabling DEP using bcdedt from the command line.  I have the crash dump file I cand attach or send to you if it would be helpful.  I don't see any way to attach it to this post, so if you would like to see it just let me know how to send it to you.
