Lulu helps authors, publishers, businesses, and educators publish and sell print on demand books and ebooks. Their DOC to PDF conversion system used Microsoft Word Automation which was unreliable and difficult to scale. After trying several products, Lulu decided to use Aspose.Words for .NET in their new platform. Aspose.Words takes Microsoft Word documents and changes them into PDF files that can be printed by any of Lulu’s printing partners.

Aspose.Words gave Lulu the stability they needed and offered a number of future uses too.

Oracle Consulting Services deliver solutions for companies. When building an on-demand reporting system for a Customer Relationship Management system they needed to be able to save the customized reports as Microsoft Excel or PowerPoint files. To do this they used Aspose.Cells and Aspose.Slides for Java on the recommendation of one of the project team members.

Aspose’s applications integrated into Oracle’s Java environment and produced the documents they needed without being dependent on Microsoft Office applications.

Currently, documents must be passed to Adlib (a separate file-based server) for transformation. This complicates the document transformation process as documents must be passed to and picked up from the service, resulting in a loss of control over the complete execution flow during the process. After trying a couple of different packages, we came upon the Aspose solution. We found that it works without the need to install MS Office and does everything that we required
From the ASP.NET application we look to see if there is an already converted PDF document that exists, and if this is the case we compare this converted document to the most recent version in SharePoint. If these documents match then we allow the user to download the converted PDF; if the documents are different we perform a new conversion based on the most recent SharePoint version and present this to the user instead.

As part of our CRM we have integrated a MailMerge facility that will allow users to merge custom datasets with Word documents. With our previous supplied we were encountering strange behavior when trying to create items such as labels with different labels on each label rather than batch labels.
We were also encountering server errors which were due to the component for large mail merges (i.e. a few thousand records). As customer databases were expanding this obviously presented an issue and as such we needed to identify an alternative solution.
