We are happy to announce the release of Aspose.Words for Reporting Services 3.0 - a momentous event in the product's development. This release introduces a number of great features, namely: full support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services (final version), improved document layout, optimized items positioning, new export format (ODT), and more. Of course, the third version also includes a bunch of bug fixes accumulated since the previous official release. We would like to thank you for reporting issues and suggesting various interesting ideas that have been included or will be included into the product's functionality in the future.

What's new:

• Full support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services (including tablix, richly formatted textboxes, and other features).
• Document layout was improved for better balance between the precision of export and the editability of the document.
• Added the PageBreaks configuration setting that allows to easily control how page breaks are inserted into the document.
• The FlowMode configuration setting was dropped due to being ambiguous and unclear.
• Some of configuration settings were renamed for simplicity purposes. Old names are still valid to support backward compatibility.
• Items positioning was optimized in order to reduce the number of positioning tables and simplify their structure (flow layout only).
• Added the ODT (OpenOffice/StarOffice OpenDocument) export format.
• License model was changed for the case of integration with Report Viewer.
• Based on the newest Aspose.Words for .NET 6.0.
• Product's documentation was updated.

What’s fixed:

• Group page breaks worked incorrectly.
• Some complex matrices could have extra empty rows inserted.
• Page contents often appeared higher than the page (flow layout).
• Empty space at the end of the page did not provide a decent level of items' positioning (items could be shifted throughout the document). Was replaced with page breaks (flow layout).
• Repeatable headers/footers could appear in the middle of the page due to the shift throughout the document. Were dropped for the cases when the shift may appear with high probability.
• Other minor fixes.
