What is Aspose.Recognition? Is it an OCR component? What functionality does it provide? When will it be available?

Hi Anthony,

Aspose.Recognition is an umbrella name for a component that will be converting fixed-layout formats (starting with the most popular PDF) into flow-style Office documents (starting with those supported by Aspose.Words). Aspose.Recognition will use AI-based methods to infer information not present in the original PDF files and alike in order to create the formatting objects and attributes from a set of drawing commands contained in fixed-layout formats.

We are planning OCR functionality as the second step.

The upcoming beta is largely related to plain text conversion but other things are planned too and we need your opinion to shape up the feature set for the first stable release.

You can visit the component page at http://www.aspose.com/documentation/file-format-components/aspose.recognition-for-.net/index.html to learn more about what is coming up.

We are planning to release the beta in the next few days and the stable version will have a defined date when we freeze the feature set.

With best regards,
Denis.
