Overview

Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services is the only solution to generate reports in Microsoft PowerPoint PPT and PPS formats in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. Almost all RDL report features, like tables, matrices, charts and images are supported and can be converted with high quality to presentations or slide show.



PPT and PPS Export

Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services does not have built-in abilities to export reports as Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, but after installing Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services on your server, you will get access to two additional export formats Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) and Microsoft PowerPoint SlideShow (PPS). To create documents in these formats, Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services relies on a built-in version of Aspose.Slides for .NET, the market leading presentation-processing component from Aspose. Microsoft PowerPoint is not used to generate the documents. PPT and PPS copies of the same report will appear identical to each other, thanks to the high degree of support for the underlying file formats, provided by Aspose.Slides.





Comprehensive RDL Support

Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services fully supports almost all of the RDL specification. This means that there is no need to redesign existing reports. You can export any existing RDL report as a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation and it will appear exactly according to the RDL design. Also there is no need to use a specific report designer. You can use any RDL report designer and the report will be exported exactly the way you designed it. Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services supports the following RDL elements:

High Fidelity to the Report Design

Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services exports reports as Microsoft PowerPoint presentations in such a way that they appear identical to reports exported by the built-in renderers of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services employs a smart technology to produce “editable” Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. Tables and matrices from the report are exported as “normal” Microsoft PowerPoint tables, not as hundreds of absolutely positioned rectangles with textframes.




Easy and Lightweight Deployment

Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services is a rendering extension for Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services is provided as a single MSI installer that can install on the computers running either Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services (32bit) or Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services (32-bit and 64-bit). It is also easy to deploy and manage Aspose.Slides for Reporting Services manually, as it is comprised of only one .NET assembly Aspose.Slides.ReportingServices.dll, written completely in C#, CLS compliant and containing only safe managed code.
