We have released Aspose.Cells for Java v7.1.0. In this release, we have incorporated several useful enhancements that improve we handle pivot tables, XLSX and ODS formats. We have also fixed issues regarding shapes, XLS, XLSX and ODS rendering.  Moreover, we have further improved the Excel-to-PDF feature. There are some other fixes and enhancements too.

Aspose.Cells for .NET 7.1.0 includes a number of enhancements for pivot tables. The formula calculation engine is further improved now. The rest of this article describes some of the features and enhancements that are in this release in more detail.

Pivot Tables Enhancements

In older versions, you can utilize advanced conditional formatting (Excel 2007/2010) and filtering data features on general data but not on pivot data. Now, you can apply conditional formatting and filter data on Pivot Tables. Moreover, we have also supported some missing options (get/set) regarding Pivot Tables.

Formula Calculation Engine

In this release, we’ve improved formula calculation engine that you can calculate huge list of formulas (in the template file) in quick time. Also, you can take advantage of calculating formulas on your desired cells only.

Miscellaneous

We have fixed a number of issues posted by the users in the forums. You can convert worksheet to SVG format. The desktop based Grid control provided by Aspose.Cells for .NET, now, supports to read Excel files with grouping data options on. There are some other fixes and enhancements too. You’ll see a full list of fixes and enhancements from the list on the download page.

We are happy to release Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services v1.8.0. We have included some general features such as workbook and worksheet protection.  The Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services client component now supports Office 2010 x64. We have also carried out optimization work to improve the overall performance of Aspose.Cells for Reporting Services and its modules.

In this version we have also fixed a number of internal bugs and included several new enhancements, for example, the Herder background color bug, a hide column issue, the row merged algorithm module, a page break issue, hyperlink and bookmark links bugs, the row algorithm module, the Excel 2007 (data only) output bug and more.

Aspose.Cells for Java now supports reading even common HTML files. We have also added support for reading charts and other shapes in ODS files. We have enhanced the worksheet’s copy operation and provided more useful options while copying worksheets between workbooks. You can load text and CSV files with your desired parsers.

We have added improvements to the advanced conditional formatting for XLS files and added some other fixes and enhancements too. You’ll see a full list of fixes and enhancements from the list mentioned on the download page.

Pivot Tables Rendering

Support for pivot tables in Excel (97-2010) spreadsheets has been in Aspose.Cells for a long time. We are continuously improving this module with every release of the product. With this release, we’ve added support for the GETPIVOTDATA function. We have also enhanced some pivot table options, e.g. DataDisplayFormat, AutoShowCount, Data Filtering etc. We have fixed the compatibility problems and other issues regarding pivot tables for different Excel file formats.

Miscellaneous

We have improved the performance of Aspose.Cells formula calculation engine further. We have enhanced advanced conditional formatting rendering options. Rendering auto-shapes are improved while converting to PDF. Moreover, we have enhanced reading charts from ODS files. There are some other fixes and enhancements too. We are happy to release Aspose.Cells for .NET 7.0.3. We have made several enhancements and fixed a number of issues in this version.

We have added support for conditional formatting and cell gradient colors when rendering to PDF documents. The PDFs that you create look like the original documents even when they use advanced formatting.

There are some other enhancements to how smart markers and error checking options are handled, especially for XLSM files. We have improved performance for Excel to PDF and Excel to XPS features for various scenarios so that converting large files is faster than ever.

It’s now also possible to copy ranges with validation set.

The GridDesktop control provided by Aspose.Cells for .NET now supports conditional formatting (for Excel 2003 XLS format).

There are over 30 enhancements and fixes in this release.

We have released Aspose.Cells for Java 7.0.3. This version comes with some important enhancements. You can now save XLS and XLSX files in Light Cells mode using LightCellsDataProvider. This gives you better performance for bigger files.

We have improved the Excel-to-PDF conversion feature. Follow the link to read about the updated feature in the documentation.

One of our users reported a clash between Aspose.Cells for Java and other JARs that they were using (specifically woodstoxs-core and webservices-rt). We have resolved that issue and this release makes the fix available to all of our users.

We’ve also added  a method for getting a list of colors for different objects used in a worksheet. This was requested by a customer last month and it was a very good suggestion. Now, all our users have access to this feature.

There are over 20 fixes and enhancements included in this release.

We are happy to release Aspose.Cells for Java v7.0.2. We have made several enhancements, including improvements to the Sheet-to-Image and Excel-to-PDF features. We have also fixed number of user issues.

In this version, we provide support for group and sort data in Smart Markers feature. This feature was one that our users wanted to see and adding support for it means that the Java and .NET versions of Aspose.Cells are more in line with each other. You can now place dynamic rows for sub-totals, totals etc. in between the sections of data while grouping data for your scenarios. We have also included support for JDK1.7 and LightCells APIs for saving XLSX files.

There are some other enhancements and fixes too.

In this version, you can get the document properties for an encrypted XLS file without even knowing its password. We have made enhancements for Smart Markers feature: now you can group data in some complex scenarios where you also need to place dynamic rows for Sub-Totals, Totals and Grand Totals in between the sections of data. The GridDesktop control provided by Aspose.Cells for .NET now supports shapes while loading Excel files.
