Reconnecting with our customers

As part of our ongoing celebration of our 10th birthday, we’ve been talking to some of our very first customers about their experiences of the software industry (and our tools) over the last decade. The first of our customers that we reconnected with was Rob Wilson, Director at Edupoint Educational Systems. Edupoint develops enterprise-level software to support U.S. school districts. The software manages everything from back-office activities and state reporting, to front-end portals for parents and students. We’re delighted that they use our products in their business amd look forward to working with them over the next 10 years.

10 years in business and a new home page

In March, Aspose turned ten. We’re continuing to celebrate our tenth birthday this year and will introduce you to some of our very first users in the coming months. If you need more than one of our tools, investigate Aspose.Total. Aspose.Total bundles all our products across a platform. Technical Article – Generating a Worksheet Thumbnail with Aspose.Cells for Java

Thumbnails can be pasted into Word documents or PowerPoint presentations to give a preview of a worksheet. They can be added to web pages with a link to the original document and has many other uses. Aspose.Cells’ APIs allow you to output worksheets to image files so making a thumbnail is easy. Learn how.

Tutorial Video – Rendering a Gantt Chart with Aspose.Tasks for .NET

With Aspose.Tasks for .NET you can work with Microsoft Project files from within you own applications. One of the tasks that you can perform is saving project data to an image of a Gantt chart. It’s a three step process: load the project, define image parameters and export an image. We’ll show you how in just under two minutes. Watch the tutorial.

Migration Tip – Creating a New Diagram with Aspose.Diagram for .NET

One of Aspose’s goals is to free developers from dependence on Office Automation. To create a new Microsoft Visio diagram, for example, you can use VSTO or Aspose.Diagram. Discontinued Products

In September we changed the name of Aspose.Network to Aspose.Email to better reflect what the product was used for. Tutorial Video – Using Aspose.BarCode for Java

Aspose.BarCode for Java makes it easy to read and create barcodes in Java applications. Many aspects of the barcode can be controlled. This tutorial shows how to create a Code128 barcode and set the foreground, background and code text colors as well as other attributes. The video is just under 5 minutes long. Watch the video.

Migration Tip – Extracting messages from a PST file with Aspose.Email for .NET

One way of extracting messages from PST files in Microsoft Outlook is to use Microsoft Automation. For it to work, you need Outlook installed on the machine that the code runs on and you need to reference Microsoft Office Interop for Outlook. The other way is to use Aspose.Email for .NET. This migration tip compares the two techniques.

Welcome to 2012! December and January are months for reflection and like many other companies, we have spent some time looking back at the year that past and thinking about what we want to achieve in the year ahead. 2011 was a good year for Aspose. We released five new products. We improved our existing products in more ways that you can easily count. Our users helped us win community awards. To give back to the community, we supported user groups and conferences. Our all new Consulting services gave us some really interesting projects. We even reached 10,000 customers. In 2012, we want to keep this momentum and continue to deliver services and products that our users really need. Watch this space.
