    Doc 2 Pdf Errors

    Attachment: Present (inaccessible)

I've found some more .Doc to .Pdf formatting issues.

Attached is a sample of the latest Aspose.Pdf errors when converting Word documents to PDF.

The first main paragraph in Doc1.doc is justified, but when converted to PDF it's not.  And on the second line the words "into and" is changed to "intoand" - one word (see Doc1.pdf).

If I remove the indentation on that paragraph then everything looks great in the PDF (see Doc2.doc and Doc2.pdf).

Finally, over the past few months I have identified and reported several formatting issues converting Word to Pdf using Aspose.Pdf, and you have fixed every issues with promptness and to my complete satisfaction - thank you so much.  However, while doing this I've often wondered if there is anyone using Aspose.Pdf in a production environment?  These issues seem to be ones which normal testing would have caught, and removed before releasing your application to be downloaded and used by your customers.

    Problem fixed.  Thank you.

However, I'm still wondering about there being any other production systems using Aspose.Pdf.

    Re: Doc 2 Pdf Errors

    Hi,

We have many customers using Aspose.Pdf in production environment. As you know Doc2Pdf is quite complex and we have not made it perfect. However it is our fault that the QA work is not very good in the past. We are working hard on this issue to avoid such problem. We provide the temp dll to you so you can use it if you are urgent. We will try our best to make the product perfect before we publishing the official hotfix.

Found some more formatting issues converting .doc to .pdf using Aspose.Pdf:

    1. The paragraphs in the attached document are all justified, however the first line in each are short from being right justified.

    2. There's two pages in the PDF but only one in the Word document.

    Re: Doc 2 Pdf Errors

I have logged the justify problem as PDFNET-4051.
The page problem is complex. It can be caused by many reasons. We can't make the Pdf document has exactly the same pages as Word document in short time.

Found another justification problem converting Word to PDF with Aspose.Pdf.

The attached Word document contains two paragraphs which are both set to justify.  When converted to PDF the first paragraph is changed to left justify, and the second paragraph is not.  The only difference between the two paragraphs is one character.  The date "March 25, 2007" is changed to "March 2, 2007".

I've also attached the XML and PDF produced by the conversion process.

Please help us understand why this is happening because these formatting issues are stopping us from implementing Aspose.Pdf on our production environment.

    Re: Doc 2 Pdf Errors

Any news on why or what's causing our latest formatting issues?

    Re: Doc 2 Pdf Errors

    Hi,

Sorry for replying to you later. We have added the second document into issue PDFNET-4051 too and we are working on this issue. We will try our best to resolve the justification problem completely in the new version. We need to do more test on this issue which might need much time. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Re: Doc 2 Pdf Errors

Thanks for you reply, however this is worse news than I hoped for.  It almost sounds like you're not going to fix the issue.  Your reply gives us the feeling we could be waiting for your fix indefinitely.  I'm willing to help with testing if that will speed up the process.

Over the year which I have been working with Aspose they have been very timely with responding and fixing almost every issue I've logged - THANK YOU - and at this critical time in our development cycle this is still my present hope.  Our production environment is screaming for this software.

Can you give us a date when you feel confident the fix will be available?

Please give as much attention as possible to these issues.

    Thank you.
