Introduction

The Aspose.Total Northwind Demos have been developed to highlight the combined power of the various components, offered by Aspose, for rapid application development. Developer can spend more time and effort towards developing the business logic without having to dive into the finer details of functionality which are pre-built into Aspose components and can be used with the minimum amount of effort. These components will surely help to increase the productivity of developers which gives them a critical edge over their competitors. All Aspose components are completely independent of any third party proprietary or open source software. They don’t rely on OLE automation and don’t require Microsoft Office or other applications to be installed on the machine. The various demos included in this package are:

  • Word Processor
  • Spreadsheet Editor
  • Presentation Creator
  • Email Client
  • Invoice Creator
  • Flash Creator

Note: The package includes source code of C# demos that shows how to use Aspose components.

System Requirements

Users don't need to download any additional files to run these demos however there are few system requirements, which include the following:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
  • Internet Information Server (IIS) 5.1
  • Visual Studio.NET 2005 (not required to run demos however source is provided as a Visual Studio project)

Known Issues for Windows Vista Users

  • Unrecognized configuration section 'xhtmlConformance': You may face this Configuration Error while running demos if your Application Pool is not set to ASP.NET V2.0. To fix it, please make sure that your Default Application Pool is set to .NET Framework v2.0. If you have set the Default Application Pool of IIS to .NET Framework v1.1 and don't want to change it then please change the Application Pool of our demos web application (created by our installer whose name is Aspose.Total-NorthwindDemosCSharp2005) to ASP.NET V2.0 using IIS Manager. You may do it easily by selecting web application (from the list of web sites in IIS Manager) and then using its Basic or Advanced Settings.
  • Run Visual Studio 2005 as administrator: You may face "Unable to open Web...." information dialog while opening the solution file of demos in Visual Studio 2005. To access local IIS Web sites, Windows Vista requires its users to run Visual Studio with administrative privileges. Even you are already logged on as an Administrator; Windows Vista may still require you to right-click the icon of Visual Studio 2005 and then click 'Run as administrator'. After Visual Studio is opened, you may open the solution file of demos using the File menu of Visual Studio. If you do so, you won't face that dialog while opening demos in Visual Studio 2005.
  • Configure site for use with ASP.NET 2.0: You may face another dialog asking you to configure site with ASP.NET 2.0. You may click Yes button and it will be done without any problems.

Note: The above issues may appear only after installation of demos. If you don't face these issues, it means you don't need to configure anything. If you confront with these issues then just follow above guidelines and you won't face any troubles.
